Lennox Bridge in Parramatta, Western Sydney, is one one of the oldest stone bridges in Australia. In 2014 the Parramatta City Council began work on tunnels for pedestrian and cycling traffic on either side of the Parramatta river.
As an acknowledgement of the historical and engineering significance of the bridge, two large interpretive murals were proposed within each tunnel. Mono Design worked with Look Ear (heritage interpretation) on development of the murals, and while construction commenced produced a temporary vinyl ‘skin’ announcing the upcoming designs.
