Dimmeys, with its distinctive towering globe, is an icon of the inner Melbourne suburb of Richmond.
As a part of the redevelopment of the site into apartments, Mono Design worked in conjunction with LookEar (heritage interpretation) to tell the story of how a humble drapery store transformed over 130 years to a retail emporium ‘Model Store’ and then to a modern day bargains store. Our brief was to work interpretive displays within the existing zig-zag architectural framework of the apartments entry.
