The Black Saturday bushfires of February 7, 2009 were the worst in Australia’s history, resulting in 173 deaths and 414 injuries. As a commemoration of this tragic time, CFA used the Annual Report to honour the victims, document events, and recognise the efforts of the firefighters involved.
The design approach was sombre and understated. The cover is a simple blind emboss and images of the the fires and aftermath were used to punctuate the narrative within.
